COOKHAM DEAN POST OFFICE RE-OPENING

Come and help celebrate the re-opening of the Cookham Dean Post Office

on Tuesday August 11th

at the Jolly Farmer

Musical celebrations will start at 2.30 and Tim Brooke-Taylor will be there to cut the ribbon at 3.00pm precisely to inaugurate the new service.

Yes, it’s true, the new post office will be hosted by the Jolly Farmer on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 3.00pm to 5.30pm. You will be able to sit in the sunshine outside the Jolly Farmer and enjoy a refreshing drink while you stick your stamps on – what could be better? We must use it or lose it.

The service will be organised and run by Liz Connell who is the Postmistress at Lane End Post Office and who is already providing a similar service at Hurley.

The committee is now looking at the feasibility of a shop re-opening in the village and has been visiting other community-run shops to look at how they operate. The first objective is of course to find suitable available premises in the centre of the village.
