A ‘Concertini’ is a short, inspirational live music experience aimed at the whole family.Each Concertini features a different live musician or ensemble and is produced in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
Concertini was formed in May 2015 by musician, teacher and mum of two Julia Bentley Dawkes. Born into a musical family Julia passionately believes that everyone can benefit from live music and the earlier we introduce it the better. “The purpose of each Concertini is to introduce families to different styles of live music and musical instruments, to prepare them for the enjoyment of future live music events, to nurture a love of music and to provide an opportunity for families to listen to live music in a relaxed community setting.”
Refreshments, colouring, and musical worksheets are available, as well as the chance to meet the instruments and even have a go! Many of our concerts are themed and children are encouraged to get into the spirit of these by dressing up for the occasion.
Concerts last around 45 minutes and are currently scheduled to take place in venues and schools throughout Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
