Lea Barn Music

By kind invitation of Dr & Mrs Behrman at Lea Barn, Cookham Dean (see Map below)

Music is a channel for emotions. Created through joy, rage, hope or despair, it has the innate ability to change the listeners' very state of being.

Each concert is followed by tea and cakes

Admission is free and there will be a collection in aid of a charity at the end

If you would like to reserve a place for a concert please contact Deborah Behrman on

Sunday 10th May 2009 at 4pm

Young musicians from Royal Holloway College will be giving a concert here on Sunday May 10 at 4pm.  It will be a programme of works that they will be performing in their finals exams and which they have been working on through the year under the direction of Robert Max

Many of you will remember their very enjoyable concert last year when we had piano and string music.  This year there is also a brass group, which will be a first for a barn concert.

The Quercus Piano Trio will perform Schumann's first trio for piano, violin and cello and Five Bergerettes by Martinu

The Davo Brass quartet will play music from 4 centuries, finishing with one of my favourite pieces - 'Ain't Misbehavin' by Fats Waller.

Please come along - it should be a lovely concert - and as well as my normal cakes Robert (Max) has promised one of his chocolate cakes.

The charity collection will be in aid of MusicWorks - for bursaries to enable deserving young musicians to attend chamber music courses over the summer.
