Triple P ('Positive Parenting Program') is a parenting programme that suggests small
changes that can make a big difference to your family. Triple P gives parents the skills to raise confident, healthy children, and to build stronger family relationships. It helps parents manage misbehaviour and prevent problems occurring in the first place. But it doesnít tell people how to parent. Rather, it gives simple and practical
strategies that can be adapted to suit your own values, beliefs and needs. And with over 30 years of university research to back it up, you can be sure Triple P works for the majority of families.
Itís an informal presentation, a bit like a forum. It lasts for about two hours. There is
lots of time for questions, but you wonít have to speak up if you donít want to! Itís your
choice. Thereís no homework and no follow-up. The Workshop introduces a range of positive parenting strategies and tips for parents/carers of children aged 2 to 12 years. You will definitely get some great ideas to take home and try out on your family!
To register for a place please call 01628 685615 or 01628 685632. A confirmation letter will be sent with details on the course dates and venue. Following this one of the facilitators of the course will contact you to make an appointment to visit you at home, introduce themselves and familiarise you with the content and answer any questions.
The courses are open to mums, dads or key carers of 3-16 year-olds living in the Royal Borough. Parents must be willing to commit to all sessions and have identified at least one aspect of their child's behaviour (or of their own parenting) that they would like to change or improve upon.
Places are limited and will be allocated after a home visit has taken place.
