Stubbings House Garden Opening in March for Nursing and Health Charities

The National Gardens Scheme (NGS), which organises the opening of private gardens to raise funds for nursing and health charities, is delighted to invite visitors to Stubbings House Garden.

Stubbings House near Maidenhead, Berkshire, is famed as being the home of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands during World War 2. The parkland garden is set around the 18th Century house and features a large lawn with ha ha, woodland walks and historic cedars. March is a particularly good time to visit to see the abundant daffodils.

Stubbings House has a retail nursery for plant lovers, and other attractions within the 80 acre estate include an 18th Century icehouse and access to adjacent National Trust woodland.

Visitors to NGS gardens will also have the benefit of knowing that their entrance fee is supporting wonderful causes. Run locally by volunteers, the National Gardens Scheme donated over £2.6 million in 2016 to its beneficiary charities, which include Marie Curie, Macmillan Cancer Support, Hospice UK, and Carers Trust.
