Over at the Odney Club the old bridge is being demolished. It would cost over three quarters of a million to renovate it and make it good enough to run the tractors over to the field. What's the point when 50 metres away is the new bridge over to Sashes Island. So these stumps are all that remains of the old bridge, and they'll be removed when the high level Thames returns to more manageable size.

Meanwhile at the Grove plans are in place for the Hey Big Spencer Art exhibtion during the Cookham Festival in April. The huge Rolf on Art type art structure will be visible from the Cookham bridge. Here's a view of the bridge  we don't normally see....

Nice to see work under way in our High Street on the refurbishment of the Stanley Spencer Gallery.

Thanks to some generous funding from the National Lottery a million pound refit of the gallery is underway and if you want to see the paintings right now they on temporary exhibition at the Madejski Rooms of Reading Museum.

The Stanley Spencer gallery will reopen with a flourish later this Year.
