Can You Help Advertise the Spencer Gallery?

(6 August 2007)

As the time gets closer when the Spencer Gallery opens its door after the massive refurbishment helped by Lottery funds, the Gallery are looking for people who might be prepared to put a poster up advertising the Gallery.  There are a variety – A3/A4 laminate, or for more permanent displays the Gallery have invested in some weatherproof A3 poster boxes, which are very smart.  They screw on to a wall or fence, and are lockable.

The poster would be changed as the exhibition changes – every six months or so.  Some of the meeting places have very kindly accepted framed posters which are starting to go up... but the Gallery need some more ‘on the street’ to attract the passing crowds.  They are very anxious to make all the inhabitants of the Cookhams feel welcome, and know that it is their Gallery.  A large number of locals have never set foot in the place – and they would like to change that.

The initial ‘holding’ poster – a whimsical painting by local artist Mandy McAllen showing Stanley himself looking at the newly renovated gallery with interest - is shown below.

If you would like to download an A4 version click here.   Alternatively if they are prepared to have A3 or A4 laminated  – e-mail info@stanleyspencer.org.uk. The new exhibition posters will be available shortly.
