Bridge Rotary first became involved when a Rotarian from Slough came and
gave a talk about his trip to Bosnia and Chris Jupp is making his third
visit this year. The first time he went as a co-driver. The
convoy crossed the Channel from Dover to Calais and then across France,
Belgium, Germany and Austria into Slovenia and Croatia and then on to the
army base at Banja Luka in Bosnia, where thy stayed at the army barracks. From there they
travelled to Sarajevo
to distribute their cargo. |

After
visiting Sarajevo they returned to Banja Luka and
distribute the rest of their funds for people to buy food and fuel. Last
time they were not able to do this as they did not have enough funds, so
they have ensured that this will not happen this time.

People
were incredibly generous with donations of money, food and
clothing.
Chris Jupp said he
would like to thank everyone involved who donated goods, gave
money, offered help in sorting and packing plus many other
activities.

As there was so many items so generously
given, some had to be left behind as the truck was not big enough to carry
it all. All left over items have been delivered to the Open Aid Direct
warehouse in Chatham and will go on the next convoy. |
