Hope & Aid Direct – April Convoy to Serbia 13^th April 2003 

FOOD, CLOTHES and EQUIPMENT NEEDED - Can you help?

Hope & Aid Direct is a small voluntary organisation devoted to helping those in desperate need in the Balkans and Belarus. We personally deliver the aid direct to the recipient giving them not only sustenance but hope as well.  This year we have joined forces with the Christian charity Blythswood Care to run Operation Raska this Easter with the aim of supplying 150 tonnes of aid to two areas in southern Serbia.

Who is involved:

Yugoslavia – ForumNVO Lingua in Kraljevo and surrounding villages, Love Thy Neighbour in Vrnjacka Bana & Leskovac area, Rotary Club of Kraljevo.

Who will receive your donations:

An OAP home of 280 in Mataruska Banja.

Village Schools around Kraljevo

22 collective centres/refugee camps in Kraljevo and Leskovac

What  we need:

Dry food: Anything as long as it does not contain milk, fish or meat products and is still in date.

For instance – pasta, rice, sugar, packet soup, pulses, smash, etc  Incidentally, we can no longer take chocolate due to a recent import ban in most of these countries.

Clothes:  Clean summer clothes for any age except baby or toddler. Ideally bagged and labelled with sex and age.

Shoes: Clean, serviceable, sensible shoes (no high heels)  - tied in pairs and labelled with size.

Tools: Serviceable hand tools such as hammers, saws (sharp),  brace/bits, planes, axes, scythes, spades, forks -  in fact anything which  could be used in rebuilding houses and growing crops.
