It's all change at the Kings Arms!

On Friday March 9th the new look pub opens its doors and this week the sign writers were up the scaffolding putting the finishing touches to a glorious new Look King's Arms!

It's a skilled craft to be able to write long lasting signs perched high on scaffolding above the busy street.
Using a padded stick to rest on he carefully painted "Free House"  which doesn't mean the beer is free but is the old fashioned phrase signifying the pub is non aligned to a brewery and serves a range of different beers.
Just before the end of day the new very heavy pub sign went up. Featuring the royal coat of arms - The Three lions, the harp of Ireland, and that old favourite the red lion! Hanging beneath went the swinging name of the pub,

and over the road Bernadette Clark in the upstairs office of Straford's wine merchant cheered on the men at work!
To celebrate the completion of the refurbishment, Dominic Bhargava, the general manager of the King’s Arms, is delighted to team up with www.cookham.com to offer one lucky person a chance to win a three course meal for two plus a bottle of wine. To be in with a chance of winning, just answer the following question:

How many seats are there in the new King’s Arms?

Email the answer to the above question with your name, address and daytime phone number to webmaster@cookham.com

Closing date is Monday 19 March, 2007.
