Been past the station recently? seen the old cobblers place? well it's been transformed by long time resident of Cookham - John Hopwood.

"I was in the social club one day when they said John you should do something with that place...

I've been in the greengrocers business for many years over in Henley and I did consider opening a fresh fruit and veg store, but on reflection it seemd more appropriate to do bric a brac."

And it really is an Aladdin's cave in there!  John's done a big job transforming the old shop - it's been a  newsagents, as well as a cobblers in its previous life - the old central dividing wall is down, the lino replaced with nice carpet tiles, Network Rail have rewired the place and the front is a treat. Bunting, and all sorts of goods to buy entice you in for a wonderful selection of goodies.

"You must be a magpie yourself John!" we exclaimed.

One of the nice touches is the old boot above the door in front of Jeremiah's sign.

"I did it in memory of a great Cookham trader" said John.

In Memory of Jeremiah

We wish the Junktion well in its trading. Do drop in and support it!
