Uncle Tom's is Open

Friday 29th May 2009 Uncle Tom's Cabin in Cookham Dean opened its doors again under the new managers Simon and Tracy. Simon is well known in Cookham as he ran the Jolly Farmer for several years and built it up to be very much the centre of the village. He is now hoping to make Uncle Tom's another focal point for the village as we have lost so many traditional English pubs over the last few years.

The decoration is magnificent, with light carefully laid wooden floors and luxurious eucalyptus and cream Farrow and Ball paintwork. Currently Uncle Tom's is not offering food as the kitchen has to be redone, but building work starts on Monday with a new boiler being installed, so soon we shall be able to eat there too.
