The sun shone for the Cookham Dean Fête on Saturday 20th September which was held as usual on the Old Cricket Common at Cookham Dean.  The theme this year was the Circus. Cookham Dean Fair excelled itself once again with a wide array of interest, music, animals, stalls, food and beverages and general fantastic fun for young and old.

What makes this Fair stand out is the good old ideas of fairs providing things to wander around and enjoy without having to spend a penny. Things like the displays oc fruit and vegetables - judged by a member of the royal horticultural society.

There's art work to be enjoyed and bought by three different Cookham art clubs showing off their talent.

There were  exotic reptiles to look and even touch!  There were Llamas to be stroked and ferrets to race.

The afternoon was a complete sunny success and thoroughly enjoyed by the hundreds of people who visited from far and wide.

It follows on in the third week of Cookham excelling itself as one of the loveliest and most sociable places to live.

We've had the Cookham Regatta on the Thames followed by the Gravity Grand Prix go kart races and then in another burst of sunshine - the famous Cookham Dean annual Fair. How lucky we are..

The children's entertainer went overboard with enthusiasm at the Cookham Dean Village fair this year.

All sorts of animals could be handled at the Fair from llamas to snakes to ferrets.

21 year old James and Jamie will be rowing from Australia to Mauritius across the Indian ocean next April. It's to raise money for Headway - the brain injury association.  They will take it in turns rowing two hours on and two hours off - for around 80 days!

Reptile Celebrities had their own marquee. They provide Displays, handling sessions and educational talks about live exotic reptiles.

The Tarrystone Players were out in force promoting their next production DInner Ladies by Victoria Wood.
