Holy Trinity Welcomes Their New Youth Worker

(24th February 2002)

After much discussion over several years, Holy Trinity have found the perfect Youth Worker to join them in their work.  Dave Walker comes from Newport in South Wales, where he lived for the first eighteen years of his life.  For the last four years he has been the Youth Worker at a church in Eastbourne.  Dave says that although people think of Eastbourne as full of elderly people, there are a surprising number of young people living there.

Dave will be living in Broom Hill and says he is on his second camper van, as he thoroughly enjoys camping and the outdoors, when he can get the opportunity. He is also looking for some mountain bikers in Cookham.

In addition he is a talented artist and particularly enjoys drawing cartoons, some of which he has had published. He is also a computer whizz kid and edits his own website, which can be found at www.wibsite.com. Perhaps he can contribute to cookham.com!!

On 24th February 2002 Dave was commissioned in the Parish Eucharist Service at the 9.30am service at Holy Trinity Church.

John Fenton, on behalf of the interview panel, presented Davce to the congregation.  Dave was then given gifts symbolising his ministry amongst the people of Cookham.
