St John the Baptist held their annual Autumn Fair on Saturday 1st November, a little later than they normally have it.  They were rather worried that it may be a bad time as so many other activities were going on.  They need not have worried the Cookham Dean Village Hall was packed out. So far £2,400 has been counted, but there is some more to come.

There were a wide variety of different stalls along with the possibility of a sit down for a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.

Adrian Doble of Partners in Pewter had a glittering stall with lots of ideas for Christmas.  Adrian designs and makes all the articles in Cookham Dean with his wife Lesley.

In addition there were stalls selling jams, chutneys, fudge, cakes, sweets and other goodies. Also books, tombola, raffles for a Christmas cake and also for hampers, whisky and wine. Marie Therese Ind had packed up hampers for the main raffle and had made them look extremely attractive. There was a book stall, Tradecraft and jewellery, plus beautiful containers of plants for the winter. It was amazing that everything fitted into the hall along with the crowds of people.
