Nobu Karasawa, from Japan, joined the Cantorum Choir for two rehearsals at Cookham Dean Church where the choir was rehearsing for Haydn's Creation for the Trinity Festival. Nobu, who is retired, is in the UK for six months. Recently he has been taking day time courses at Reading University. A  tenor, who sings with many choirs in Japan, Nobu wanted to keep up his hobby while in the UK. He looked up local choirs on the web and among others found the Cantorum Choir www.cantorumchoir.org.uk . He joined around 10 choirs for rehearsals and has sung in one or two in their concerts as well. Unfortunately he will not be here when the Cantorum choir sing the Creation at the Trinity Festival.

He is not only a good singer but also is excellent at origami. At the Jolly Farmer pub after the rehearsal Nobu taught members of the choir how to make a crane and do a trick with an origami boat.

Maybe one day the Cantorum Choir will do an exchange with one of the choirs Nobu sings with in Japan!
