Pam Hammond Presents Silent Auction Winner With her Painting

(19 December 2001)

The Cookham Society's Christmas Card which depicted Cookham Moor in the snow was based on a painting by Pam Hammond.  The Cookham Society had organised a blind auction of the painting and the person with the highest bid was presented with the painting by Pam Hammond herself on Cookham Moor this morning.

The presentation took place at 10.00am with a photo shoot with the Maidenhead Advertiser.  The lucky person with the highest bid was Colin Mitchell from Hurley.  Colin used to live in Cookham Village opposite the Peking Inn.

A quick chat afterwards. From left to right, Bill Spicer (Cookham Society Membership Secretary) Pam Hammond, Colin Mitchell and Margaret Cubley (PR for the Cookham Society)

Bill Spicer, who is the Cookham Society's Membership Secretary said that there was not a single card left for sale, 830 packs had been sold, also packs left over from previous years had also gone.  This was extremely successful and we could have sold more.
