THE MEDIA HUB TURNS THREE

posted 11 July 2016

The Media Hub is turning three! The southeast’s leading networking group for media professionals is celebrating the occasion with a dazzling summer party at the Botanist in Marlow at 7pm on Thursday, 14th July. Around 100 media professionals and VIP guests are expected to attend the special event at the chic new Marlow eatery and cocktail bar, which is owned by the award winning New World Trading Company. Guests will be invited to take part in the ultimate cocktail adventure – a special cocktail masterclass – before having a social catch-up, partying and listening to the live music.

“We are delighted to be having our 3rd birthday party at the Botanist – it really is the icing on the (birthday) cake!” says Sarah Rodi, Media Hub co-founder, print journalist and editor of Mums About Cookham.

The Media Hub’s summer party follows a recent workshop on “how to go viral with online videos” at the Bel and the Dragon in Cookham, with member, broadcast journalist and video producer Marissa Holden.

“I find the Hub a really good way of making new contacts within my industry. And the workshops are fab to develop your skills with help from the members themselves,” says Marissa.

The Hub has welcomed an impressive line-up of guest speakers including Home Secretary Theresa May, Olympic gold medallist Adrian Moorhouse and Click reporter Dan Simmons.

“Great things often come from humble beginnings,” says Media Hub co-founder Sarah Parfitt. “Our first ever Media Hub meeting three 3 years ago involved a handful of media professionals having a social catch-up over a few drinks, but since then, the Hub has evolved, and we now also offer workshops and presentations.”

“I think that what our members value the most is meeting up with other media professionals in a relaxed, friendly and fun environment – many of our colleagues work from home and although we are all connected through social media these days, you can’t beat a face-to-face meeting!”
