It was Winter Ineluctability on Saturday 26th January 2008 with the Fabulous Shirtlifters entertaining a packed house at the Pinder Hall. This time they had a surprise artiste in the shape of Rolf Harris, Rolf had been practising with the group and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Rolf said that he thought the gig was absolutely wonderful and was amazed at the applause. He told a Burns night joke which brought the house down.  He was worried about his voice not surviving the evening but it did and everyone thoroughly enjoyed having Rolf with a trad jazz band.

The Hall was crowded as never before - seats were at a premium!  The Fabulous Shirtlifters gave away £2,000 of which half went to Elizabeth House.  John Brooks who had come back to Cookham for the gig dressed up as Sophie Tucker and a beautiful Sophie he was.
