After the success of Mozart's Singing from Scratch last year, an appreciative audience turned out to hear representatives from local choirs singing Haydn’s Nelson Mass from scratch on 16 October 2010 at Holy Trinity Church Cookham.

Soloists were Sue Piggott (Soprano) Nick Allen (Tenor) Ricardo P’Laena (Bass) and Katie Grosset (Alto)

The choir started rehearsals at 5 p.m. on the day for the Thames Hospicecare fundraising concert at 7 p.m. the same evening.

The organiser Stuart Cripps said, ‘a big thank you to all who took part. This has been great fun and we would like to stage a similar concert next year so please pass the word round’

The ‘scratch’ choir was conducted by Ben Gunner (Royal Free Singers and Orchestra of London accompanied by Organist Robin Jones (St. Bride’s Church, Fleet Street).
