Mozart with a real difference took place on 3 October at Holy Trinity Church, Cookham, when Thames Hospicecare organised an evening of Mozart's Requiem from scratch. Anyone could come along and join in, while if you were a bit nervous of actually taking part you could just come along and enjoy the results.

The Organiser of the event was Stuart Cripps and the organist was Rhidian Jones from St Luke's in Maidenhead. The event actually ended up with an amazing 80 voices, which was an incredible achievement.  £1,400 was raised for the Hospice and the fantastic soloists were from the Guildhall and all gave their time for free. They were Katie Grosset - alto Catherina Sereno - soprano, David Bellinger - Tenor, and Tom Kennedy - Bass. The conductor (who stood in at a few hours notice, as Ben Gunner had fallen out of an apple tree and gone to hospital), was Robert Jones who is a professional conductor and was brilliant. Everyone had a lot of fun and as it was so successful.  Stuart says "I am going to do the same next year about the same time, either with Faure or Haydn Nelson Mass. Will keep you updated". So anyone who missed out this year make a note in your diary for 2010.

If anyone would like to contact any of the soloists they can e-mail Stuart.
