(1 May 2011)

29th April 2011 was a day for celebrating the Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton and the PTA of Cookham Dean School ensured that everyone had a really good time. The celebrations took place on the Old Cricket Common where there were lots of activities for the children including a bouncy castle and swing boats. There was an enormous barbecue and some even bigger barrels of beer. In the WI Hall there was afternoon tea and the Cookham Dean Village Hall had a large screen so people could watch what was happening to the newly wed couple.

Six hundred red, white and blue  balloons were let off into the sky and this was followed by children's races such as the sack race and egg and spoon, which proved very popular. Afterwards people could make their way up to the Jolly Farmer which was offering a Royal Wedding Beer Fest.

A good time was had by all.
