Cookham Rise Entertain Elizabeth House

(23 July 2013)

On Thursday 18th July members of Elizabeth House were invited to Cookham Rise Primary School to help celebrate the end of KS2’s summer topics.

Years 5 and 6 performed songs and sketches from their recent production ‘We’ll Meet Again’ which was the finale to their topic of World War II.

Father Michael led Grace before Years 3 and 4 served cream teas with homemade jam. The jam was made by the children with strawberries they had picked at the nearby Copas PYO Farm in Long Lane as part of their topic ‘I Love Where I Live.’

Guests were given a tour of our award winning African garden by Years 3/4 and joined in with Year 5/6’s VE day party. They then browsed through the children’s projects, shared their experiences of World War II and relived their school days at Cookham Rise.

It was a very enjoyable afternoon as young and not so young mingled effortlessly. No generation gap, just our local community enjoying each others company. Wonderful!
