On Saturday 5th February local residents celebrated the Chinese New Year with an "Oriental Odyssey" themed Charity Ball in Moor Hall at the Chartered Institute of Marketing. The Ball raised over £2,500 for a few Children’s charities that are close to the organisers’ hearts:

Thames Valley Adventure Playground for special needs children,

Kazi Mingi Foundation building a school in Kenya and,

        Helen House Hospice for children.

Happy New Year

The Eagle Claw School gave a spectacular display of martial arts as well as performing colourful traditional dragon dances. The Band with No Name not only had feet pounding the dance floor and succumbed to raucous demands for encores, but also donated a three figure sum to the charities.
