Ever wondered what the view is like from the top of the tower at Holy Trinity?
On a beautiful sunny morning in June, photographer Brian Eade from Oxford came to take photos for his new book on the Thames.
Comparing the view with a shot from 1870s it's surprising to see how similar it is. Only the boatyard on the Bourne End bank is new, and the trees on the far side of the meadow have grown a lot too, but Hedsor church is still a highlight and the houses on the Cookham riverbank are familiar (and in better repair!)
Brian brought a selection of cameras and waited until the morning mist had burned off before taking shots of the river and admiring the views of the village from Cookham's highest building.
Brian's book of photos of the River Thames including the shots he took this week will be published in 2008 |
