For the Diamond Jubilee, Bel and the Dragon asked local residents to bake a cake and challenge their Head Chef Ronnie to a Bake-Off!! The judging took place on June 4^th, during the Cookham High Street party. with judges being Father Michael Smith, Wendy Craig, Jim Rosenthal and Theresa May. 

The winner of the Jubilee Big Bake Off competition  was Marie Hawthorn of Hatch Place Cookham, the cake was a wonderful three tier Victoria sandwich with layers in red and white and blue!  

For first prize Marie won Dinner for Four at Bel and the Dragon.

The Big Bake Off was organized by Ronnie who said “The Big Bake Off has involved all ages with over forty entries from young children to senior citizens all celebrating the Diamond Jubilee”
