Hugh
Miall (Holy Trinity Church chorister) is off to the jungle! He is going
to Sabah Borneo to take
part in a conservation project run by Trekforce Expeditions, and is
holding a concert to raise money for the project. Come to Holy Trinity
Church Cookham on Friday March 4th at 8.00pm to hear a wide range of
music, from sacred to barbershop and swing-time, performed by talented
young singers from the area (all ex members of Berkshire Youth Choir).
No admission fee - just a retiring collection, and refreshments will be
available.
Sabah
is located in East Malaysia and lies in the north-east corner of Borneo and was known as the 'Land Below The Wind' by maritime traders during ancient times, because it lies below the typhoon belt.

Its people are from 32 different indigenous groups. Amongst them are Kadazans, Muruts, Bajausk, Kedayans, Sulu, Bisaya, Rumanau, Minokok and Rungus.
Its mountains are covered with jungles, for Sabah has one of the world's largest rainforests. Its colourful native culture and natural attractions make it an important tourist mecca.
