THREE FIRSTS FOR PENNY IN BALLROOM DANCING AT BLACKPOOL

(15 January 2017)

Over the past eleven years Penny Bysshe, who lives in High Road, has competed successfully in many dance competitions as an amateur Ballroom and Latin dancer. After she has taken her professional examination later this year she will concentrate on teaching dance and will no longer compete. The  Pro-Am competition at Blackpool on Friday 6 January was Penny's swan song and she was delighted to be awarded three firsts, two for Ballroom and one for Latin! Well done Penny.

Penny taught for twenty years and then ran her own business as an Educational Consultant. During this time she discovered she had a passion for dancing.

She now has a job that combines her teaching skills and her love of dancing. Penny teaches classes, private lessons and runs Tea Dances and socials at Vibez Dance Studios in Woodley https://www.vibezdance.co.uk/. Her husband Peter helps by playing the music and dancing with ladies who do not have a partner. Although they are not competing any longer Penny and Peter give dance demonstrations at local care homes.

Penny is keen to get Cookham dancing and is running a Beginners Ballroom and Latin class as part of the Cookham Festival this year.
