Major Roadworks courtesy of the Environment Agency... 

For the next 6 weeks the diggers and workmen are in raising the level of the road, putting in pipes for floodwaters that come every winter, and bringing the road up to the level of Lightlands Lane.

Already they've built a footpath and gate.

The trees alongside the road are being cut back, the verges cleared and the whole thing will be a massive major improvement to one of Cookham's flooded roads.....
