Cookham Eco Warriors speak out :

As members of the Marsh Meadow Protection Group, we represent at least 200 Cookham residents who are extremely concerned about the proposals drawn together by the RBWM Planning Department for the siting of a car park on Marsh Meadow in Cookham, as a replacement for the existing National Trust car park on Cookham.

These 200 residents signed a petition, which was presented at the meeting of the Planning and Environment Board on November 15th 1999, stating that they objected to this proposal. Despite this, the Planning Department is continuing towards submission of a planning application.

We believe this proposal, described in the Officer's Notes to the Planning and Environment Board for the November 15th 1999 meeting, is unsound in its logic, and as a result threatens many aspects of Cookham life for its residents, traders and visitors.
