Cookham Parish Council


Cookham is made up of three areas, Cookham Dean, Cookham Rise and Cookham Village. 

These three wards are represented by fifteen Parish Councillors as follows:

  Cookham Ward (Cookham Village) 2
  Cookham Rise Ward   9
  West Ward  (Cookham Dean)   4

The Parish Councillors are all unpaid, but are supported by a paid, part time Parish Clerk and her assistant.  

Cookham Parish Councillors were voted for in May 2003. In addition there was a By-Election on Thursday 18th March 2004 due to two vacancies which were filled by Mike Barnes (Lib Dem) and Simon Saintclare-Abbott (Lib Dem).

            Adoptive Acts: 6 elected members of the Council

 

            Footpaths & Open Spaces: 6 elected members of the Council

 

            Finance and General Purposes: 6 elected members of the Council

 

In addition the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Council are ex officio members of all these committees and also the Chairman of each of the committees is an ex officio member of the othersThe Chairman of each committee is elected at the first meeting of that committee apart from Planning, when it is the Chairman of the Parish Council.

(a) 

COOKHAM WELFARE TRUST:                                                                                  

Cllrs M. Brar and P. Brockwell were proposed by the Chairman to serve for a further year. This was seconded by Cllr Prichard.

(b) 

SAMUEL LEWIS OLD AGE PENSION FUND:

Cllrs M. Brar and P. Brockwell were proposed by Cllr Wellman to serve for a further year. This was seconded by Cllr Harris.

(c)   SCHOOL GOVERNORS:

(i)                Holy Trinity Primary School:        

Cllr A. Prichard will continue to serve until 2008. 

(i)      Cookham Nursery:     

          Cookham Parish Council will no longer have a Councillor serving on this Board.

(iii)      Cookham Dean Primary School:           

           Cllr G. Harris will continue to serve until September 2006.
