Damage at the Football Club

There have had a few problems at the Football Club. Criminals smashed tiles and damaged the roof of the clubhouse so they could steal the lead flashing below the tiles. The criminals must have been on the roof over the weekend when all matches were postponed due to frozen pitches.

It seems that small time criminals have targeted the Cookham Dean Clubhouse and stolen lead flashing from the roof while leaving a considerable amount of damage in their wake.

A neighbour alerted the club to the damage, and while a report was given to the Police by the club Secretary Neil Fryer, both the Chairman, Rory Gavin and Under 12s Manager Mark Walters attended the scene to carry out emergency repairs before making arrangements for proper renovation work to be carried out.

The annoying thing for the club is that the lead stolen is worth only a fraction of what the costs will be to repair all the damage that the mindless criminals have caused.

If any local people saw anything suspicious on or near the clubhouse recently then please contact us as we would be very grateful to you.

Any information that would lead to a  prosecution would be rewarded.
