Visitors from St Benoit Cookham's Twin village came ts visit us from 29 October to 1 November. It all started with drinks at the Social Club next to Countrystore. The visitors had mainly come by car this time although some brave souls had braved the French strikes and taken the train. On Saturdays some of the visitors went to London while others were shown round the area by their hosts. In the evening a Halloween Party was held at the Cricket Club, apart from excellent food and wine, there were some games such as shove halfpenny, darts and Petanque.

On the Sunday, after visiting St Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Lower Road followed by coffee with the congregation, the visitors, hosts and friends visited the magnificent Waddesdon near Aylesbury, which had been owned by the Rothschold family. It was rather coals to Newcastle as the manor is full of French treasures. They had ;lunch there before having a tour around the house.

At the end of a packed weekend the French visitors from Cookham's Twin Saint Benoit visited the Stag and Hounds in Pinkneys Green for some Beer and Skittles. The skittles were a great success and was finally won by the Diments who were also hosting two of the visitors.

All too quickly Cookham's visitors from St Benoit were leaving. Next year it will be Cookham's turn to visit France and it is hoped as many as possible will come along.
