New Venue for Christmas Card Fair

The Christmas Card Fair moved to a new venue this year.  The Card Fair has for many years been run by Jim Hacker, who used to live in Westwood Green. It used to take place at the Parish Centre and before that at the Church Hall on the Maidenhead Road, before it was pulled down. As there was no one to run it this year, Christine Callund, from Ovey's Farm in Cookham Village stepped in and resurrected the very popular event.

Setting Up for the Christmas Card Fair

Many of the Cookham charities were represented, the Cookham Society, Thames Valley Hospice, Oxfam, Traidcraft, MS, Eczema Society, Save the Children, Sue Ryder and Christine Callund's own charity CASH, which raises money to buy equipment for local hospitals.  Christine was saying how things were changing, in that the eleven hospitals that supported the area had now been reduced to five.
