On Saturday 27th September Cookham Scouts
won in the Mixed class at the National Youth Dragon Boat Championship at
Longridge boating centre, Marlow. Competing against 13 other crews from
all over the UK, the Cookham squad of 19 paddlers and a drummer won all
three of their races, including the final.
The crew contained Scouts, Explorer Scouts and leaders and it was the first time they had entered the event in 10 years. For some of the crew it was the first time they had paddled in a dragon boat. |

Well done on a huge achievement. The date for defending their trophy is Saturday 26th September 2009. |
