(18 June 2011)

It was a wet start to the Scout Fair on the Moor on 18 June. Having had dry weather for months the heavens opened, even the visitors to Ascot were allowed to wear Wellingtons of any colour. In the afternoon it cleared up, although there was a shower or two. The weather did not dampen the spirits of the attendees, the music played, the refreshments tents were well populated and there were lots of painted faces. There was ferret racing in addition to the many stalls of every sort. There was even a demonstration of how to treat a heart attack.
