SCOUTS TO TAKE GIRLS

(6 September 2005)

Cookham Scout Troop starts up its Autumn programme on Friday 9th September, and for the first time the Troop will be welcoming girls.  Any girl or boy aged between 10 and 14 and interested in an active and adventurous programme of indoor and outdoor activities is welcome to come along and sample a meeting.  The Troop meets between 7.00pm and 9.30pm on Friday evenings at the Cookham Scout Headquarters on Pearce Drive off Grange Road in Cookham Rise.  Among the many activities planned for this term are night hikes, go kart racing, bonfire building, cycle orienteering, initiative challenges and a treasure hunt.

Cookham Explorer Scouts, also meeting on Friday evenings at the Scout HQ and catering for 14 - 18 year olds, also welcome both boys and girls.  Cookham Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts are currently remaining boys only.

If anyone wants to know more about the Scout Troop they should call the Scout Leader, Andrew Sutherland, on 01628 850 856.
