Dave Walker, the Youth Worker who has been working for Holy Trinity for the last two years is leavingCookham. Dave has been an inspiration to many young people over the period he lived in the village. He is a particularly talented artist particularly at drawing and thinking up cartoons. He is planning to be a cartoonist when he moves to his new home at Rayleigh in Essex.  He says it is something that he has always wanted to do and so is now taking the plunge.

Dave with his Holy Trinity Card

He had two leaving parties one with his Holy Trinity friends on Sunday 20 February and then another the following evening with the Cookham Youth Club at the Cookham Dean Cricket Club.

Two Leaving Cakes!!

He also managed to get three cakes, as he was given two at Holy Trinity.  Both were chocolate cakes, so Dave must seem like a chocolatey person.

Father Michael Says Goodbye to Dave

Dave's leaving party at the Cookham Youth Club was a very noisy affair. He was given a card designed by Timmy Mallett from the Cookham Youth Project signed by the Management Committee and some of the young people and he also had a special card from the other Youth Workers, or the zoo creatures as they called themselves.

The Cookham Youth Project also gave Dave a book on drawing cartoons to help launch him on his new career.
