Stunning pieces of architectural glass by Miranda and delightful word and texture pieces by teresa. An absolute gem to start the trail. Miranda, recently returned from living in Switzerland "I'm thrilled to be back in Cookham again". The two artists complement each other well in this wonderful art space.

Miranda’s sculptural work is inspired by texture, the patina of age and the play of light trapped between two surfaces. She builds up deceptively simple forms from layers of coloured glass, fused, kiln formed and cold worked.

 

Teresa’s word‐pictures are routed from fibre‐board, then carefully hand‐filled with a variety of materials, including traditional millefiore tiles (from Murano), glitter tiles, gold leaf, sequins and ‘gems’. The combination of materials gives an intense richness to

these unique pieces.
