THE BERKSHIRE

BOBBY

SCHEME

Providing a

Home Security Service

for those aged over 60 who have been a victim or are in fear of crime

How does it work?

The Bobby Operative, who is an experienced carpenter/lockfitter, will respond to a burglary - usually within 24 hours - following a referral from the police or other local agencies.

He assesses each case individually and fits whatever security devices are necessary to ensure that the property is secure. Where appropriate he will visit similar dwellings in the vicinity and offer advice and security measures.

The Bobby Operative will also link into Neighbourhood Watch schemes, Victim Support, the Police Beat Officer and other support agencies.

There is no charge for this service

How do I get Bobby's help?

The Bobby Scheme can be activated in many ways:

By self referral

By reporting a burglary

By the area beat officer or investigating officer

By Victim Support or any other caring agency

By neighbourhood watch

The scheme is co-ordinated through the area helpdesk: Windsor (01753) 835555
