Crime:
2 July 2007
As
the Area Commander said at this mornings briefing, we are a 'postcard
location' - with regards to heightened awareness re terrorist activity.
Can everyone therefore be on real alert, when walking around what might be
possible target areas, such as the Castle and the clubs and pubs in the
town centres at night. Suspicious cars area priority as are people acting
suspiciously. Please remember the 0845 8 505 505 number and put it into
your mobile in case you need to phone with intelligence. Crime
generally still down, but we have seen an increase in both car crime and
criminal damage. Burglaries are down by 50% against last year. To
reassure everyone. Parking in the Town Centre is now being addressed by
the police - 14 tickets issued on Thursday last week - and this blitz will
continue ! The
police have arrested an offender who has been charged with 2 burglaries at
this time. One in Knowl Hill, the other in Sunningdale. It took an
enormous amount of police work over the weekend, but it was worth it. CRIME: HIGH

approach the owner offering to sell it back. If anything like this has
happened to you, can you please let us know in order to protect others. It
is unusual for us to have a single isolated incident. If you own valuable

future. COX
