Crime:
3 July 2007
I
was asked at this mornings Briefing to make you aware of a 'dark Cherokee
Jeep' that is out and about possibly committing crime. The black Cherokee
Jeep stolen from Ascot and used in crime yesterday has now been recovered.
The suspect jeep was in Burchetts Green Lane yesterday 2nd July at 3.20
p.m. 2 offenders climbed over electronic gates and attempted to kick in
the front door. The owner was home and disturbed them. They ran off,
climbed back over the gates and made off in what is described as a 'dirty,
dark Cherokee Jeep'. Unfortunately no index was taken. It is now thought
to be this jeep involved in the burglary in Manor Lane, Shoppenhangers
reported yesterday, as the stolen jeep had been recovered by that time. If
you see a matching car parked up suspiciously or driven around your
neighbourhood again acting suspiciously please let us know. If it is
actively looking at houses in a Neighbourhood, please 999 it, if you see
it parked up suspiciously, then please use the 0845 8 505 505 number
quoting URN 967 of the 2nd June. Crime: PINKNEYS

SHOPS AREA MAIDENHEAD: Dippers
in Maidenhead Town Centre. Can everyone be especially aware at the moment
- grandmother and eggs comes to mind. Yesterday
at 11 a.m. a woman withdrew cash from a cash till, put it in her purse in
her handbag and went into a store. She then put her handbag in her
trolley. She was distracted by a young girl, who came up to her and asked
her opinion about a jumper. Another similar girl was standing close by.
The girls then immediately ran out of the store. When the woman looked
down, her hand bag had gone. We
had another incident between 2 - 3 p.m. where a purse went missing from a
bag hanging on a buggy. Please
do not be a victim ! Do not let this happen to you. We have had many
similar incidents in the Town Centre so far this year. More
tickets being issued for cars illegally parking - you asked for it at all
our public meetings ! It is happening ! You speak - we listen !
