Crime: 13 July 2007

Another car went in the early hours from Windsor, it is believed on a low loader. Can everyone remain alert to this issue and if you see any low loader taking a car take the index number and phone the police immediately on the 0845 8 505 505 number - particularly in the early hours.

Can I thank members who are phoning through suspicious incidents, it is having effect. The police had calls last night from 3 Neighbourhood Watch roads in Maidenhead - Cox Green Lane, Heynes Green & Hawthorn Gardens, about 3 suspicious lads out and about at 3 a.m. Immediately a car was dispatched to find them - because the Neighbourhood Watch members had given such good descriptions of the lads and their clothing, they were picked up and stop checked very quickly - they were very well known to us ! The Area Commander, Supt Mike Ismay, asked me to pass on his personal thanks to those members that called. By picking them up and letting them know the police are watching them, we can prevent them from committing opportunist crimes. You can save someone becoming a victim. We also had calls about 2 lads on a moped in Fane Way and Claire Road probably up to no good ! Thanks for calling - it is really appreciated.
