Crime: 1 February 2008

Car Crime decreasing - but criminal damage to cars seems to be on the increase. There have been several reports of car windows being broken and either handbrakes released, so that the car runs into other cars, or they are driven into other cars. These have been reported across Maidenhead as well as an incident in Trenchard Road, Holyport. Everyone with a car knows how expensive it is to repair damage. Please therefore be extra vigilant for the time being and if you think this may be happening, phone the police immediately on 0845 8 505 505. Each incident of course involves several people having their cars damaged. Has anyone overheard anyone boasting about this - or perhaps recording the incidents on mobile phones !

Another couple of things.

The lead flashing was removed from St. Marks Methodist Church, Allenby Road sometime between the 22 - 29/1. Did anyone see anything suspicious ?

While I was looking up that job in the police computer, I just noticed 2 houses in Allenby Road had had telephone wires cut at about the same time. I happened to be a NAG meeting in Windsor on Wednesday, when a resident from Bexley Street said 2 residents there had had phone or TV cables cut. I checked the police computer again and on a very quick check of January, found 9 others - sometimes more than one house in a road as with Bexley Street and Allenby Road: South Road, Boyn Hill Road, Twynham Road, St Mark's Road, Havelock Road, Gordon Road Maidenhead as well as Bexley Street Windsor. Has anyone else out there had any wires on their property cut ? You may have thought they had just come apart. Can everyone check please and let if so let us know. What would be interesting to know is if those properties had alarm or CCTV systems
