Almost no Burglaries and virtually no Car Crime !

CRIME:-

WALTHAMS:

25/3 3 p.m. Twyford Road. Copper cylinder stolen from a house under construction. Manhole covers are also being stolen in the village - presumably for scrap, which could be very dangerous. Can everyone be aware of this problem.

OLDFIELD & BRAY:

26/3 5 p.m. Badger Close. Elderly couple at home when they heard a loud bang. They went to the hallway and found a man there. He said some kids had kicked the door in and he had come to help and they did not need to call the police. 2 other men started then to rummage through drawers. They then left with cash. Please advise all elderly and vulnerable people that they need to obtain a 'Lifeline'. The pendant worn around the neck or on the wrist. In these sorts of situations they would be invaluable as the person could simply press it discretely and alert the call centre that something was wrong. The call centre could then listen in and call the police. The people that distribute and sell Lifeline services here are 'Repair with Care' - 01628 545000 or if you want any further information you can email them at repairwithcare@mdha.co.uk.

Julie Howard and her team are brilliant and absolutely reliable if you recommend them. I don't know if these victims had Lifelines. If they do, they should have immediately pressed them.

PALEY STREET:

15/3 2 abandoned cars set alight in a field.

COOKHAM:

27/3 1 a.m. High Street. Plants pulled out of tubs.

26/3 - 27/3 Popes Lane. Garage break. Copper stolen last week and it is thought they came back for lead but were disturbed.

COX GREEN:

27/3 5.30 p.m. Farmers Close. Fence panels smashed.

RIVER AREA:

27/3 Donnington Gardens. Satellite dish vandalised.

LITTLEWICK GREEN:

26/3 - 27/3 farm on Bath Road. Container broken into and tools stolen.
