Crime: 30 March 2009

Across the area we have had several sheds broken into over the weekend and garden equipment stolen. It is that time of year. Please take extra precautions if you have sit on mowers, sucker blowers or valuable tools. Please also secure valuable garden furniture and ornaments. The sheds that have been broken into had padlocks which have been cut off with bolt croppers - the thieves went prepared ! Back to the warning about suspicious people out and about looking for potential targets. If I can see you have a substantial garden, the chances are you may have a valuable sit on mover, hedge trimmers, loppers etc.

If you have this type of valuable equipment, you need to do more than simply put it inside a garage / garden shed. The items need to be locked and chained together, so that it is difficult or noisy to steal them.

27/3 - 28/3 Pump stolen from a garden pond in Windsor. Large pumps can cost a lot of money and are a possible target, if it is simple to unplug and remove them ! If you have a pond, please again be aware, valuable Koi have been stolen recently overnight, as well as bronze garden statuary. Please be aware of anyone acting suspiciously around rear or garden gates !
