Crime: 16 April 2009

At this morning's briefing the Area Commander Supt. Tim De Meyer asked me to let you know that over the last few days we have had a big reduction in our reported crimes and in the last 48 hours had NO BURGLARIES in Maidenhead. BUT - people are still leaving items on display which is drawing opportunist thieves to your areas. Can you please spread the message ?

Secondly a brilliant response yesterday to Nottingham Knockers in The Street. Within minutes, our members had rung each other and the PEC - My grateful thanks to Phillip. they are obviously on the ball out there. We do not want anyone selling door to door, in our more remote areas please. If you don't buy anything, they won't come. If you do get these 'unemployed lads' going door to door selling household products, you must telephone the police immediately, giving us a full description, so that we can go out and have a word with them. Please remember our NW motto:

'WE DO NOT BUY GOODS AND SERVICES AT THE DOOR'.

No conversation with them please - it is too easy for your to be helpful and courteous - If asked why there is no response from Neighbours' houses it is all too easy to respond - 'because they are on a world cruise for 3 months ' 'Oh no they will be out, they work till late in the City earning a fortune !!!!!
