Crime: 7 May 2009

I started up a new scheme in Bridge Court, Bridge Road last night - can I welcome them on board.

Can I also thank a member who spotted the car I circulated yesterday used in the robbery at the jewellers in Maidenhead yesterday ? The car was spotted being dumped in Belmont Road. The thieves jumped out and climbed into a BMW which had been parked up there. The BMW was on false plates. Well done that person.

There has been quite a bit of car crime right across Maidenhead last weekend and tailing off into this week. In case it increases again this weekend can everyone be alert and phone through immediately if you see anyone acting suspiciously around cars. It varies between car parks and residential roads depending on where the police operations are. Community Wardens, Borough traffic wardens and PCSO's have been tasked to patrol areas where car crime has been happening - BUT YOU CAN HELP. They are out there, where we think offender are stealing. If you see anything suspicious we can easily re-direct them and target them more specifically - it is in your interest that we do this - help us to help you.
