Crime: 31 July 2009Much less crime this week than usual, mainly down to the new Lock down operations. Still too much left in cars and people not securing their houses ! We have opportunist thieves waiting for you to make a mistake. It may only happen once - but that is enough. They always seem to be there for that moment of forgetfulness.
CRIME: BISHAM, COOKHAM, HURLEY & THE WALTHAMS: 24/7 1.30 - 2.30 p.m. Spring Lane. Burglary. Owner returned to see a car pulling away from the house. Not clear how they got in - possibly via a small toilet window which had been left open - laptop and Blackberries stolen. Offender described as: Asian, dark medium length hair, 30 - 50 years old, wearing dark clothes, the car was a green saloon. If anyone in the village saw anyone matching this description acting suspiciously please contact the police. 24/7 9 - 9.30 p.m. School Lane. Driver parked his car up and went into the garage. When he got back - mobile phone had been stolen from the footwell. 28/7 Sutton Road. Car rear windscreen smashed - briefcase stolen from the boot. 28/7 7.30 - 8 p.m. Pub in Paley Street. Car rear windscreen smashed - briefcase stolen. 28/7 - 29/7 Waltham Road, Airfield. Index plates stolen. These plates were used on a car stolen in a burglary. The number plates were discarded during a police pursuit. 4 prolific offenders were arrested. 29/7 7.30 - 9.30 p.m. Lower Road, Cookham. Car driver's window smashed - stereo stolen. 29/7 - 30/7 Bisham Bypass again - Diesel stolen from a lorry while the driver slept in his cab.
BOYN HILL, COX GREEN & WOODLANDS PARK: 25/7 - 26/7 Bissley Drive. Burglary through small window left open - not known if anything stolen. Items found outside. 25/7 - 26/7 Clare Road. Car drivers door lock drilled - car radio stolen 27/7 8 p.m. Boyn Hill Road. Garage break. Owners saw a man and a woman acting suspiciously by their garage and went out to investigate. By then the garage door had been opened and the man was removing a printer. When challenged, they said they were the owners of the garage. The owner said he was calling the police and they made off in a silver Rover 214 index R 48 FTM. The police are interested in the whereabouts of this car. Any sightings to the PEC please on 0845 8 505 505. 26/7 - 27/7 Altwood Close. Gates damaged. 27/7 3 p.m. Phipps Close. Conservatory window smashed with a stone. 24/7 - 25/7 Altwood Road. House window smashed for 7th time. 27/7 - 28/7 Lillibrooke Crescent. 2 bikes stolen from a rear garden. 28/7 - 29/7 Audley Drive. Car passenger window smashed - car searched.
RIVERSIDE & BELMONT: 25/7 5.30 - 6 p.m. Grassy Lane. Car passenger window smashed - SAT NAV stolen from under the passenger seat. 26/7 - 27/6 Fullbrook Close. Garage break - 6 bikes and accessories stolen. 29/7 11.34 Cordwallis Road. Postman left his bike in the road to make a delivery. When he returned his post sack and contents had been stolen. 29/7 8.30 a.m. Belmont Drive X 2 car passenger window smashed - SAT NAV stolen. Another car had its window smashed. 28/7 - 29/7 Derwent Drive. Car driver's window smashed - car searched. 29/7 - 30/7 Lynton Green. Bike and its chain stolen from outside a house. 30/7 9.15 - 9.35 p.m. St. Marks Road. Car rear window smashed - laptop stolen.
OLDFIELD & BRAY: 24/7 - 27/7 Forest Green Road. Caravan used as an office broken into - possibly to steal the keys for a JCB. 25/7 The Croft. Van broken into 2 or 3 windsurfing masts stolen. 24/7 - 25/7 Horseguards Drive X 2. Car locks forced - both cars searched. 26/7 1.40 p.m. Shoppenhangers Road. Car passenger window smashed - handbag stolen. A witness saw a man walking away carrying a handbag. He is described as: White, 6'2'', 17 - 20 years old, pale skin, thin build, grey jumper, black jeans, white trainers, short brown hair. 26/7 - 27/7 Phoenix Court, Norreys Drive. 2 bikes stolen. 27/7 7.30 p.m. Monkey Island Lane. Business break in. 4 lads caught on CCTV breaking in, stealing keys and driving off with plant and machinery. 28/7 - 29/7 Fane Way. Car passenger window smashed - SAT NAV stolen. 29/7 - 30/7 Fane Way. Thieves have removed a wing mirror from a Mercedes C200. - 30/7 Any time over the last month. Larchfield Road. Attempted burglary. Window cleaner found jemmy marks on window frame.
PINKNEYS GREEN & FURZE PLATT: 25/7 - 26/7 Park Corner. Car passenger window smashed - Car searched. 26/7 - 27/7 Cranbrook Drive. Burglary through window left slightly ajar. Offenders reached in and opened larger window and climbed in - mobile, cigarettes, cash and purse stolen. 26/7 1.30 - 5 p.m. Gardner Road. Prize winning Siberian Husky stolen. The dog had recently appeared in the paper. 29/7 St. Peter's Road. Car passenger window smashed - Ipod & SAT NAV stolen.
INNER MAIDENHEAD: 29/7 4.30 - 5 p.m. Holmanleaze, Leisure Centre. Bike stolen.
Have a good weekend - and be aware of how many of these offences would not have taken place if someone had not left a window open - however small, or left items of value in their car !!!
