Crime: 14 October 2009
Can I start by saying - we have only had 3 acquisitive crimes recorded across the whole of Maidenhead, in the last 24 hours ! I hope you are beginning to pick up from my reports that crime is well down. Occasionally someone comes back from a long 'holiday' and things pick up a bit, but we crack down on them very fast now. We continually visit our prolific offenders and do welfare checks on them. Our intelligence gathering thanks to you, has also improved enormously, enabling us to target our resources more accurately. Please keep that information flowing - it is paying dividends.
Reading the crime reports there seems to be a fair number of sheds being broken into across the Borough and lawnmowers stolen - a sit on mower has been stolen. As you clear everything away in your garden for the winter, put away your garden chairs and parasols, please secure them in your shed or garage so that they are not such an easy target. Put some noisy things around them, so they are not quite so easy to remove quietly.
Another think I have noticed - preparing these messages for the whole area - is plant troughs with flowers or box plants are being stolen. If you have any outside your house, can you secure them at the moment ?
